I am quite happy to announce that shortly after presenting my album “Turning Point” I was asked to contribute with a track to Imbas last VA released on his label UAF Records. This is a try to explore a more uplifting and euphoric style. Hope you like it – the CD is freely available on ektoplazm.com (as Persistence 2.0 is too):

After far too long, I finally managed to prepare my tracks for publication. Digitoxin (www.phototropicrecords.com) offered to publish my second album, so 2010, 3 years after the initial release of my first Studio-Album “Persistence” for free on psynews.org, 2 years after releasing the polished-up version on ektoplazm and one year after releasing the mastered version of Persistence 2.0 on CDR on PTR, this is my attempt to either get up to what I already reached then or, if you like, to make it better.

Elias, a friend of mine living in Belgium (also a musician. He produces great oldschool Goa-Trance and Nitzhonot) wrote the following release-text (thank you!):
Phototropic Records kicks off the summer with a brand new album by melodic virtuoso Nolax!
Hailing from Austria, Christoph Mitsch started to build a solid reputation in the newschool Goa-scene after his well-received debut album “Persistence” in 2007. Three years have passed since then and finally time has come to expose fresh food for both brain and soul in a second episode of Nolax adventures. Turning Point will take you on a journey through sun-drenched soundscapes and rhythmically organized fairytales, swifting back and forth through spaced-out atmospheres, melancholic interludes and hypnotizing patterns. Whatever track you prefer to fire up, epicures of cosmic and emotional melodies are guaranteed to find their satisfaction right here.
Your feedback is greatly appreciated! Feel free to register on this blog and post your comments.

Sometimes, a short but true retrospective is most effective helping in decisions like this. After 5 years of maintaining re³venge and 2 more years of not using it at all (mainly because keeping it up to changes in the basic hosting infrastructure was costing too much time), the result of an analysis was that maintaining a full-blown CMS for blogging is simply too much.
This is where it ends and this is where it starts. WordPress is doing a great job in providing technology for people willing and wanting to simply communicate: I installed this lots of times for other people, read thousands of posts of other people in other blogs, so why don’t use it myself?
Voilà: nolax.at and christoph.mitsch.cc from now on are a blog, and I will keep you updated about my musical activities.

Nolax Persistence 2.0 was first released on 30th June 2007 as 128k mp3 (now hosted on ektoplazm.com) with the promise of a CD release, and here it is. There are small changes in the tracks, and new mastering.
“Persistence 2.0 is firmly entrenched in the old school revivalist movement. Nolax draws upon the Eastern mystique of mid-nineties Goa trance while composing fluttering cosmic melodies and luscious atmospheric panoramas. Nowhere is this more evident than in his remake of Shakta’s classic song Lepton Head, originally released in 1996. As a result, this album emanates a genuine quality that is sure to be appreciated by all fans of old school Goa trance.”
